Review of this Meet-up:

A day that started with a lot of snow, school bus cancellations, and a forecast of continued snow into the afternoon, turned into a bright sunny late afternoon with mostly clear roads and a sun that is setting noticeably later. So very glad that I announced that the meet-up was a GO!

Thirteen RSVP'd, and eight of us showed up at the Magna Centre. We talked amongst ourselves non-stop from basically 5:45pm to 10:00pm -- showing up early to sticking around afterwards. A great group, always look forward to our meet-ups.

We did something new, starting things off by each of us describing our latest projects. It's very interesting to hear everyone talk, but as someone whispered to me I have to limit each person to just a few minutes. The range of technical experience is breathtaking.

We waited a bit for people who might be a bit late, but I actually had to break up the pre-meetup conversation to introduce the roundtable introductions, then break that up as it was 7:50pm (how did that happen?) to hand the floor to Vic for his presentaion. Vic opened his presentaion by going off on a tengent that was really interesting, then he interrupted himself to do his presentation, and then about three-quarters of the way launched into another tangent. As usual, the group asked a lot of questions along the way and that caused the second tangent.

Vic was emphatic that we use Vuex.

GTA-PHP hosted Part Two of this presentation series yesterday ( Almost two dozen were there for a very detailed, very lively presentation and discussion.

Bernd and Vic prepared a professional, conference grade, presentation -- thank you!

Meet-up Overview:

Vic Metcalfe returns to share his enthusiasm and newfound expertise with VueJS.

Vue (pronounced /vjuː/, like view) is a progressive framework for building user interfaces. Unlike other monolithic frameworks, Vue is designed from the ground up to be incrementally adoptable. The core library is focused on the view layer only, and is easy to pick up and integrate with other libraries or existing projects. On the other hand, Vue is also perfectly capable of powering sophisticated Single-Page Applications when used in combination with modern tooling and supporting libraries.

Not just favoured by Laravel Framework devs, VueJS is finding a wider audience.
